MEET THE FOUNDER
HEY, I’M EMILY!
I’ve spent the last 10+ years navigating my way through the marketing and social media world. It all started after college when I was trying to figure out what to do with my journalism and sociology degree. I figured, let’s add another cert to the mix and became a personal trainer. As it turns out, personal trainers don’t make much money, so I decided to start a wellness blog. Through this blog I learned how to grow a digital community and was introduced to the world of food photography.
I quickly learned that I didn’t want my career to be about sharing every facet of my life with the internet. I decided to take the skills I’d learned (social media, copywriting, photography, etc) and help other businesses grow THEIR communities instead. I spent time working for small businesses in Minneapolis including a chiropractor, family-owned Italian seasoning company, AND big businesses like Muir Glen and Cascadian Farm at General Mills.
It was around this time that I was connected with a DTC marketing agency that served award-winning family owned wineries on the West Coast. I started out leading all social media efforts, but I soon became the lead project manager and helped grow the team to 10 full-time staff alongside the founder. The three years I spent with this agency was a crash course in digital marketing: email campaigns, digital ads, website best practices, and so much more.
